General surgery
General surgery
General surgery in veterinary medicine includes various types of procedures, from routine operations such as sterilization and castration to complex surgical interventions on internal organs or soft tissues and trauma procedures. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system are dealt with by orthopedic surgery.
Soft tissue surgery
Soft tissue surgery refers to any surgery to treat any disease that is not orthopedic or neurologic.
As such, it includes surgery of most organs, stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys, bladder, and lungs, as well as surgery of other soft body parts, including skin, muscles, fat, and so on.
Simple mass removal is the most common reason our pets need soft tissue surgery. Other reasons for surgical procedures are testing of gastrointestinal problems such as constipation of perforations, emergency skin or muscle wounds, and abscess or cyst drainage.
Surgical procedures:

- urogenital
- hernias (perineal hernia, umbilical hernia, diaphragmatic hernia, etc.)
